Forming Suite Helps Organizations Meet
Material Cost Savings Targets
Oakville, ON, CANADA — July 29, 2005
—Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) the industry’s leading developer of
solutions for design, simulation, and costing of sheet metal components,
today unveiled Forming Suite. This powerful next generation software
features unique “Best in Class” capabilities to bring better products
quickly and efficiently to market as well as identifying how organizations
can meet material cost savings targets of 10-15%. This new direction into a
multidisciplinary arena for formability and costing is an industry first.
“Forming Suite’s new associative and
regenerative architecture marks a significant leap in formability and
costing simulation technology,” said Dan Marinac, Director Engineering, FTI,
“by providing the automotive industry with the first fully parametric
forming simulation analysis and costing tool.” Our client’s will see huge
speed and performance gains of more than 50% and that equates to hard dollar
savings on labor.
Forming Suite 3.2
is a versatile product that can be easily configured to serve different
purposes that include blank development, forming simulation analysis, blank
nesting, material cost estimation, and material cost optimization. FTI’s
best in class World Known software, FASTBLANK, FASTFORM, FASTFORM
Advanced, and BLANKNEST are now all configured within Forming Suite 3.2
which creates unbeatable synergy between the products. Our new brands,
FS/COST OPTIMIZER and FS/COST OPTIMIZER ADVANCED, are also configured within
Forming Suite 3.2.
Forming Suite 3.2
provides a multitude of unparallel enhancements that:
-
simplify,
accelerate, and control costing and design engineering work.
-
allow quick, robust,
and easy changes to the design and costing parameters
which stimulates and promotes design
optimization.
“Forming Suite 3.2 allows our
customers to transcend the various groups in the organization that impact
cost”, adds Marinac. “Departments such as Cost Planning, Estimating, Product
Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing can now communicate and exchange
information easier, faster, all under one umbrella. The end result is 10-15%
less material costs, 50% decrease in design time, and the ability to share
and automatically update information throughout the entire process in a more
optimized and controlled manner.” When engineering makes a design change,
procurement can see these changes immediately.
