- Full Integration with
SolidWorks. COSMOSMotion is fully embedded
within the SolidWorks Windows®-native environment.
- Easy to Use Interface.
COSMOSMotion has an intellimotion wizard to quickly build
motion models and a browser similar to the SolidWorks
Feature Manager.
- Joints.
Joint types include revolute, cylindrical, spherical,
universal, translational, screw, planar, and fixed joints.
- Joint Primitives.
Joint primitives include inline, inplane, orientation,
parallel axis and perpendicular.
- Contact or Cam Restraints.
Contact container types include point-to-curve 2D contact,
curve-to-curve 2D contact, curve-to-curve 2D intermittent
contact and 3D contact.
- Joint Couplers.
Joint couplers allow motion of a revolute, cylindrical, or
translational joint to be coupled to the motion of
another
revolute, cylindrical, or translational joint.
- Motion Drivers.
Motion drivers include actuator or motor.
- Motion Types.
Motion types include displacement, velocity and
acceleration.
- Motion and Forcing
Functions. Motion and forcing functions
include constant, harmonic, step, data points (spline), and
expressions as a function of time (any ADAMS® functions).
- Forces.
Forces include linear and torsion springs, linear and
torsion dampers, action-only force and moment,
action/reaction force and moment, point-to-point impact
force, gravity, and bushings.
- Results Visualization.
Extensive results visualization tools include the display of
displacement, velocity, acceleration, and force vectors, the
trace of any point of the body during the simulation, 3-D
animation, saving animations in AVI and VRML format, dynamic
interference checking, and exporting results to excel or
text files.
- Export joint forces to COSMOSWorks. Inertial
loads and joint forces can be exported to COSMOSWorks for
stress analysis.
